What would help you today?

Start with what you’re looking for, not a massage technique. These are three ways to explore an Acalia session; bookings open soon.

I need to switch off

A gentle first visit or signature ritual to help you slow down when your mind has been busy. Kat listens first and lets the pace feel right for you.

My body is holding tension

Personalised massage with more attention where you need it. Pressure and pace can be adjusted throughout, from gentle to more focused work.

I want more time to rest

A longer, quieter experience with room to settle before and after the massage. Tibetan singing bowls can be included if you would like them.

Ask about this path

Unsure which sounds right? Tell Kat what you’re looking for. There’s no need to decide before you get in touch.

The experience

Unhurried, personal, and shaped around you.

You don’t need to know what to ask for. Each session begins with a conversation, so the time that follows fits the way you actually feel that day.

  1. Kat listens first

Before anything else, Kat asks how you’re feeling, where you’re holding tension and what would help today. You can share as much or as little as you like.

  2. Massage adapted to you

Pressure, pace and technique are adjusted to you, from slow and gentle to deeper, more focused work, and you can ask for changes at any point. Skilled hands-on massage is always at the heart of the session.

  3. Room for a calm finish

There’s no rush to get up and go. Sessions close with quiet time to settle and come back to yourself before you step back into your day.

Sound, if you’d like it

Tibetan singing bowls can be woven into your session as an optional part of the experience. They’re there by choice, alongside the massage, never in place of it. A session can be massage only.

Acalia will offer two ways to make space for yourself. Bookings open soon; you can explore the experience now.

Lisbon studio sessions

Step away from the pace of the day into a calm, private space. Kat begins by listening, then shapes the massage around what you need, with sound only if you choose it. You’ll have time to settle before you leave.

Selected home visits

Enjoy the same personal approach in the comfort of your own home, without a journey afterward. Home visits will be offered in selected parts of Lisbon, Cascais and Sintra, subject to location and availability.

Bookings, studio location, home-visit areas and prices will be confirmed before sessions begin. Ask to hear when bookings open.

About Kat

Meet Kat, the founder of Acalia.

Acalia is Kat’s practice: personalised massage for women who carry a lot, at work, at home and everywhere in between. Every session starts with listening, and the massage is shaped around the person in the room.

A fuller introduction to Kat, with a portrait, will be added here soon.

Questions

Before bookings open.

When will bookings open?

A date hasn’t been set yet. Email to be told when they open.

How much will a session cost?

Prices will be published here when bookings open.

Do I have to include the sound ritual?

No. Singing bowls are an optional part of the experience. A session can be massage only, and the massage is always the heart of it.

Where will sessions take place?

In a studio in Lisbon, and as selected home visits in parts of Lisbon, Cascais and Sintra. The studio location and home-visit areas will be confirmed when bookings open.

What if I’m not sure what kind of massage I need?

That’s fine. You don’t need to choose a technique. Kat starts by listening and shapes the session around how you feel on the day.
